Tomorrow is a BIG DAY. The kind of day where destinies lock in, minions take notes, and I spill ink on everything.
🗡️ TOMORROW, YOU CHOOSE YOUR VILLAIN
At long last, the shadowy curtain rises. The real journey begins. Starting tomorrow, you will choose the villain you’ll play for the rest of the year.
No pressure. Only fate. And possibly screaming.
🅰️ If you choose a villain you already played: Well done, you clever little tyrant. You keep their Inventory, Gold, Notoriety, Boons, and Minions.
🅱️ If you choose a villain you didn’t play OR make a custom character: Select one of the villains you did play and inherit their Inventory, Gold, Notoriety, Boons, and Minions.
Consider it villainous reincarnation… or bureaucratic body-snatching.
📓 Keep your character notes. Especially your Soul Crystal Power Level. It will be referenced later in the game, and future-you will be very annoyed if past-you forgot to write it down. I speak from experience. Past-me is a menace.
📱 PREMIUM APP CODES HAVE BEEN SENT
If you purchased the Villain Companion App, your premium unlock codes have gone out by email. Those codes unlock premium features, including several that were recently added or updated, such as:

Though some spells (read: features) are not fully cast yet, this first release is more than enough to begin your dark descent.

The doors of the Dark Citadel have creaked open, and the first pages have turned. Whether you started early (you rebellious scoundrels) or are just now sharpening your quills, the time has come to embrace your inner evil.
Let the villainy begin!
🏰 INTRODUCTION: The First 3 Weeks
Your tale begins within the Dark Citadel, a stronghold of shadows and sorcery. The first three weeks serve as your Introduction Arc designed to help you test your powers and choose your path.
Each week, you will select from two villainous champions to play. They come with unique mechanics, personalities, and beautifully wicked artwork. Play them one at a time and feel their villainy in your bones.
After the three weeks are up, you’ll be prompted to choose one villain to rule your story for the rest of the year. (Or create your own, you overachiever.)
💡 Tip from the Torture Tower: Wait until after the third week to build your custom character. You’ll get a much better sense of the mechanics and vibes that suit your sinister soul.
